The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini never officially landed in the United States, though it did get two closely related siblings in the form of the AT&T Galaxy Exhibit and the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Axiom. The later of these handsets is now rolling out an update to Android 4.1.2 starting today.
To snag the update to Jelly Bean, you will need to be connected to Wi-Fi. From there, simply make your way over to Menu >Settings >About Device > Software Update.
Providing all goes well, your handset should give you the option to upgrade by following simple on-screen prompts. The update should be available to everyone, but if you don’t get an upgrade alert don’t worry about it. Sometimes it takes a day or two for these kinds of software upgrades to show up.
With the power of Jelly Bean, your Axiom will now be open to a whole new range of features including Google Now, enhanced notifications and speed improvements thanks to Project Butter. While not a powerhouse of a phone, the Axiom’s dual-core 1.2GHz Krait process and 1GB of RAM should be more than enough to provide a pleasant Jelly Bean experience.
Anyone own the Axiom? If so, did the download go smoothly?
